Over the years our skillset as a collective has grown and we continue to be intentional about the crafts we choose to nurture and master in order to be the best storytellers we can be. Here are the services we currently offer, we specialise in a range of visual communications.

LIST OF SERVICES

As a communications consultancy and a design agency we study our clients’ brands carefully in order to design assets that are consistent with your style and your message. Being an agency comprised mostly of African women, we are well placed to understand the needs and contexts of many African enterprises and where the context is new to us, we make it a priority to intentionally study your company’s background, context and direction.

Branding

Developing brands is one of our specialties and we can do this no matter which stage your business is on in it’s journey. The collective can develop detailed communications strategies that plan for your communications and branding goals and take into account your business’ direction and context. As part of creating the building blocks of your brand we also produce stationery, business cards, email signatures, logos, design assets, stock images/photos and branding guidelines.

Merch Design

Designing merchandise is one of our favourite things to do, getting to see all the different ways that a brand can translate and transform is one of the beautys of branding. We have designed tote bags, bucket hats, t-shirts, crop tops, polo shirts, journals, calendars and stickers. We’re always excited to experiment with new designs and new forms of merch, branding isn’t one size fits all and this applies to merch as well.

Layout Design

In the past few years, we have designed reports, manuals, company profiles, guides and all sorts of booklets. We are not only experienced in booklet layouts and typography, we have also mastered the art of designing for print vs. designing for digital.

Event Planning

In 2022, Utawaleza Malawi officially became the Collective’s event
planning partner. Utawaleza and Qona are both women-led feminist organisations, our aligned values allow ys to curate intimate events that centre and cater to women and marginalised groups.

Animations, Illustrations and Infographics

The first creative project we ever worked on featured animations and illustrations. Ever since, visual art has always been a passion point for us. We have made sure that we continue to hone our animation and illustration skills, particularly due to the lack of female animators in Malawi.

Web Design

In 2023, the Collective officially partnered with Mawa Creative Agency. With Wona’s attention to design detail and Mawa’s intentional approach to creating bespoke websites, the partnership allows us to create websites that correctly and creatively represent your brand identity.
